Greenshell™ mussels are unique to New Zealand and rated by the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch Programme as one of the most sustainable seafood products in the world. Kono mussels are hand raised in the isolated and pristine waters of the Marlborough Sounds, grown on a suspended rope system known as long-line farming.

Shelf Life: Expires 2 years from production date. 

Preparation and Use: 
To thaw, place the mussels on a covered tray or in a sealed bag in the fridge for 5-8 hours. 

New Zealand Greenshell Mussels are quick and easy to prepare. Just cook until evenly heated through. 

  • Bake at 160°C for 5-7 minutes
  • Cook on the BBQ or grill for 2-5 minutes.
  • Steam in a pot with a tight lid for 2-3 minutes.
